Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida

Position: Development Associate

The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida’s mission is to use the lessons of the Holocaust in order to build a just, caring and inclusive community free of anti-Semitism, racism and all forms of prejudice.

 

This is a full-time Development Associate position with a focus on development, marketing and administrative support.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Development

  • Research and write grants under the supervision of the Center’s Director of Grants and Special Projects
  • Manage website updates
  • Manage social media communications
  • Assist with DonorPerfect management – the Center’s donor database
  • Oversee the annual membership campaign
  • Assist special events planning
  • Assist in the solicitation and stewardship of donors

Operations and Administration

  • Work with committees to plan community Yom HaShoah and Kristallnacht commemorations
  • Help plan and staff the Center’s anti-bullying initiative
  • Coordinate and oversee Volunteer program
  • Assist with the planning and staffing of the Center’s cultural season.  This includes researching exhibits and films and staffing of an annual Arts Advisory Committee
  • Manage the Center’s Archive and Library, including the archiving of the Center’s organizational files
  • Outreach to synagogues, libraries and community organizations

 

Qualifications

We are seeking a person with strong writing and communication skills for a 50/50 development and program/administrative position.  Applicants must be self-motivated and be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, as well as independently.  They must be well-organized and detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required and knowledge of DonorPerfect and experience writing grants are a plus. A BA degree is required.

 

Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Youth Coordinator

Supervisor: Youth, Camp, & Families Director

If your answer to these questions is yes, then we would love to meet with you! The JCC on the Jack and Lee Rosen Campus is looking for a dedicated, creative Full Time Youth Coordinator. The Youth Coordinator will be directly responsible for the J University after school program. JU is an innovative program that enriches children through interactive, creative and fun activities. Youth Department Mission:  The mission of the JCC Youth Department is to provide a safe place that enriches children’s faith and education through activities that promote perseverance, responsibility, tolerance, and self-control. Patient, fun, responsible person needed.

Responsibilities include the planning, implementing, and supervising of the following:

  • J University After School program- Planning daily creative/fun activities, calendars, snacks, transportation, supervising children, etc.
  • School Out Days (Orange County calendar)
  • Saturday Nights Out (SNO); Required one Saturday night per month; Summer Months may have overnight SNO’s.
  • Winter and Spring Camps
  • Summer Camp Lead Counselor/Division Head
  • Youth enrichment classes
  • Attendance at outreach fairs and events to help promote the JCC Youth programs
  • Provide assistance to Adults, Camp & Events (ACE) Director for year-round special events
  • Youth Department Budget

Short Term Volunteer Opportunities with BBYO!

Volunteer Position: Staff for BBYO’s Executive Training Weekend

 

Term: Friday - Sunday, September 3-5, plus one orientation session during the week leading up to the event.

Location:  Maitland JCC

Volunteer Position Description: Supervise training sessions led by teens throughout the weekend. Help ensure participation in sessions. Interact with the teens and act as a role model.

Qualifications: Volunteers must be 21 and pass a background check prior to volunteering. Prior BBYO experience or working with teens is a plus.

Number of Volunteers Needed: 2-3 females, 2-3 males

Hours: 20-30
