What you need to know about fundamentals:
(a) Each grade has 3 fundamental options each year.
(b) Each student will sign up for 2 of the 3 fundamental options each year.
(c) Fundamentals are offered in all three trimesters; some more than once.
(d) Fundamentals are offered in both hours for all three trimesters.
(e) Students can organize their schedule as they see fit.
Some scheduling options are:
1. You can take one fundamental in two of the trimesters and then electives in each of the other class spots.
2. You can take two fundamentals during the first trimester (or the second or the third) and then take all electives the rest of the year.
3. You can take all three fundamentals whenever you choose and then electives in each of the other class spots.
Electives
Students can take up to 4 elective classes this year. Elective classes are designed to focus on a specific topic or area within Judaism such as leadership, conversational Hebrew, yoga, and Jewish law. Electives, for the most part, are grouped by 8th & 9th and 10th-12th grade. Please sign up for the elective hour that is appropriate for your grade. Elective classes with an (*) asterisk allow students to earn community service hours for each hour attended.
Course Selection & Registration
Classes are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment is available by paper and on-line. Students are asked to select their fundamental and elective classes for each trimester at the beginning of the year, but can be changed once each trimester begins. Please list your top three choices for each trimester for each hour so that we can put you in an appropriate alternate choice if your first choice is full.
